Congratulations on successful completion of the Bar examination!

Welcome to the State Bar of Nevada. Your admission to the bar opens up a new realm of experiences – starting with Transitioning into Practice (TIP) – a mentor program for Nevada attorneys.

If you are a newly admitted lawyer and have practiced five years or less, your first step is to enroll in the TIP program. Your enrollment helps us to select an attorney appointed by the Supreme Court of Nevada to serve as your mentor during the six-month program. You may also select a mentor from this list and we will make every reasonable effort to place you with that attorney. Together, you will complete the mandatory and elective elements contained in the TIP Mentoring Plan.

Prior to each TIP cycle start date (late March for spring cycles and late September for fall cycles) we will notify you of your mentor match and steps for successfully completing the program requirements.   • Mentors must be approved by the Standing Committee on Transitioning into Practice and the State Bar of Nevada Board of Governors and are formally appointed by the Nevada Supreme Court. If you would like to be mentored by a specific lawyer not already appointed, please request the lawyer to complete a TIP Mentor Application. A list of approved TIP mentors appears in the first paragraph above.

    The State Bar of Nevada cannot guarantee that you will be placed with the mentor of your choice. Please list more than one choice if known.

    If you are currently employed by a firm or legal organization that also has an approved mentor, bar staff will attempt to match you internally unless you indicate otherwise.
