On August 2, 2022, the Second Judicial District Court issued Administrative Order (AO) 2022-12, ending the district-wide Trial Stack Jury Trial Setting for its civil docket. Commencing with Trial Stack 19, on August 23, 2022, all trials will be reset on individual departments’ calendars for dates certain.
The order states that, for all matters currently set on Trial Stacks, counsel must contact the judicial assistant in the assigned judicial department and reset Trial Stack matters for a date certain on the assigned department’s calendar. The deadline to do so is within 15 days of the date of entry of AO 2022-12. A Motion to Confirm (MTC) hearing will be set in the assigned department for a date not later than three weeks before the trial date set.
Civil jury trials will commence in the Second Judicial District on Tuesday of each week, to accommodate criminal jury trials starting on Monday of each week.
