On July 7, 2022, the City of Reno Municipal Court issued Administrative Order 2022-01 in preparation for Judge Dorothy Nash Holmes’ upcoming leave of absence, effective July 15, 2022.
The order states that any pro tem judge assigned to Department 3 in the absence of Judge Holmes shall be subject to a temporary exemption to R.M.C.R. Rule 2 (A) and is authorized to exercise full jurisdiction over all cases and matters in Department 3 by reviewing, addressing and resolving all motions, warrant requests, and regular judicial functions of a presiding judge, as well as specialty court matters and hearings.
The order shall be in effect until a new elected judge is sworn in for Department 3, in November 2022.
