This one-hour CLE program addresses the increasingly relevant issue of screen addiction and its impact on wellness, particularly within the legal profession. It offers practical strategies for developing healthier habits regarding screen time and social media usage. Participants will engage in a mindfulness exercise designed to enhance focus and reduce digital stress. The session aims to equip legal professionals with tools to balance their digital and personal lives, fostering overall well-being.

FACULTY:

Shane Kraus is interested in the study of psychopathology, substance use disorders, gambling disorder, and compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD). He is particularly interested in using behavioral, epidemiological, and neurobiological methods to assess factors that contribute to the development of addictive behaviors and other co-occurring psychiatric disorders among high-risk groups (e.g., US military veterans, young adults).

Dr. Kraus received his PhD in clinical psychology (emphasis: community psychology) from Bowling Green State University in 2013. He completed his pre-doctoral psychology internship at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System in 2013 and his post-doctoral advanced psychology fellowship at the VISN 1 New England MIRECC, VA Connecticut Healthcare System and Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry in 2015.
