On Friday, March 12, the Eighth Judicial District Court issued Administrative Order 21-03, which provides a comprehensive list of court procedures put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This order supersedes previous court orders related to the pandemic, and portions of previous orders that remain in effect are included in order 21-03. Unless otherwise noted, the procedures in the order are effective immediately.

The order addresses numerous topics, including:

  • Safety precautions
  • Appearances by alternative means
  • Depositions
  • Hearings
  • Settlement Conferences
  • Trials
  • And much more

The order includes a list of email addresses for emailing document submissions to all court departments and offices.

In addition, the order notes that the Eighth Judicial District Court Clerk’s Office, including the Civil/Criminal Clerk’s Office and the Family Clerk’s Office, have begun offering in-person services for limited hours during the week. The offices are open Monday through Thursday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Litigants are encouraged to file electronically when at all possible.
