On May 20, 2021, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an order in ADKT 0186 setting the security requirements for the Supreme Court courthouses in Las Vegas and Carson City, as well as any place where Nevada Supreme Court justices are conducting judicial proceedings.
The order states that all persons and items they carry are subject to security screening by court officers. In addition, recording or transmitting equipment, including telephones, are not permitted in judicial proceedings unless prior approval has been obtained by the Supreme Court. Those who do not cooperate with screening shall be denied entrance.
In addition, the order states that all persons entering the Supreme Court courtrooms, or places where justices are conducting judicial proceedings, shall be disarmed, unless certain exceptions apply, such as exceptions provided for law enforcement officers on duty in the court.
