On December 30, 2022, the Eighth Judicial District Court issued amended Administrative Order (AO) 22-14.
According to the order, “The purpose of this Administrative Order is threefold:
- Primarily, Nevada’s 2022 General Election yielded several new judges in District Court. As a result, department caseloads and courtroom relocations require reassignment.
- Secondly, the District Court has determined that the establishment of a “Professional Negligence/Medical Malpractice Court” (“Med Mal Court”) will improve efficiency, and thus creates one.
- Lastly, procedures for probate matters are clarified for more effective case management.”
