Chief Justice Elissa Cadish announced the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection received eight applications from individuals who wish to fill the judicial opening in Department 27 of the Eighth Judicial District Court.
As of January 11, there were seven applicants for the vacancy. On January 22, the commission voted to reopen the application period for an additional two weeks. The result of the additional application period was one more application, for a total of eight.
The commission will nominate a panel of three to fill the vacancy. Department 27 is vacant through the resignation of the Honorable Nancy Allf in January. The applicants in alphabetical order are as follows:
- Martina Bauhaus;
- David Reed Clayson;
- Tracy Ip Hibbetts;
- Alexandra McCleod;
- Erika Mendoza;
- Steven Morris;
- Robert Allen Stephens; and
- Timothy P. Thomas.
Interviews to fill this vacancy will be held February 16, in Las Vegas. Interviews will be streamed live through the Supreme Court’s YouTube channel and are open to the public.
After the interviews, the commission will nominate three finalists to Governor Joe Lombardo
