Important Information – July 2025 Bar Exam Application

YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY IF:

  1. You have not received a juris doctorate degree from a law school approved by the American Bar Association or been approved by the Functional Equivalency Committee.
  2. You have been disbarred from the practice of law in any state or before any court or governmental agency of the United States.
  3. You have been refused admission to practice law in any state or before any court or governmental agency of the United States on the ground of unfitness of character.
  4. You are not in good standing in every jurisdiction in which you have been admitted to practice law. You must submit a Certificate of Good Standing and Disciplinary History from every jurisdiction where you have ever been licensed.
  5. You are not in full compliance with any court order, including without limitation, spousal or child support orders.

Application Goes Online on 12/15/2024 – 8:30 AM (PT) – THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHOUT A LATE FEE IS MARCH 1, 2025, AT 11:59 P.M. PDT. APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED FROM MARCH 2, 2025, TO MAY 1, 2025, WILL INCUR A LATE FEE OF $550.00. **NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MAY 1, 2025, AT 11:59 P.M. PDT. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Steps after the application has been submitted: Under “Step 4” you will see a link to Supplemental Instructions. Copy the link into your web browser to access the document. That document contains additional instructions regarding what additional documentation must be submitted and how to submit that documentation. You will have 21 days following application submission to submit ALL required supplemental documentation.

PLEASE ALLOW 10 BUSINESS DAYS FOR DOCUMENT SUBMISSIONS TO BE PROCESSED BEFORE CONTACTING THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE. Documents are considered received when postmarked, dropped off, or emailed.

Application Status: Check the status of your application by logging into your Admissions online account. Once you’ve logged into your account, go to Step 4 – Supplemental Admissions Materials. The drop-down list will reflect mandatory documents our office requires you to submit, which may include documents needed to complete our Character and Fitness investigation. The status will indicate each item as either “complete” or “not done.” This list will be continuously updated throughout the admissions process, so it is to your benefit to check your application status regularly.  

Refunds: There is no provision for a refund of application fees, and applications and fees may not be held in abeyance for subsequent bar examinations.
