Director of Admissions
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is looking to fill our Director of Admissions position. The Director of Admissions  manages and coordinates the admissions program of the State Bar of Nevada, including administration of the bar examinations and the bar application cycles, implementation of the Supreme Court Rules governing admission, determination of the character and fitness and eligibility of all applicants seeking admission to the bar, administration of staff, development and coordination of the Admissions Department’s budget, coordination with the Nevada Supreme Court, the Board of Bar Examiners, the Moral Character and Fitness Committee, the Functional Equivalency Committee and bar applicants seeking accommodations under the ADA.

Assistant Bar Counsel
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is currently accepting applications for Assistant Bar Counsel.   This is a full-time, exempt position with the Office of Bar Counsel.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Represents the State Bar in formal and informal discipline and reinstatement hearings before panels of Disciplinary Boards including: drafting pleadings, presentation of evidence and examination of witnesses at hearings, and preparing findings and orders.
  • Prepares appellate briefs, develops strategy, and delivers oral arguments in discipline matters before the Supreme Court.
  • Provides informal ethics opinions to State Bar members over the telephone.
  • Performs investigations of allegations of unauthorized practice of law and when necessary, seek a civil injunction pursuant to NRS 7.285.
  • Prepares and presents ethics, discipline and related programs for continuing legal education, to the courts, state agencies, legal service organizations and law firms.

Paralegal Investigator
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is currently accepting applications for a Paralegal Investigator. This is a full-time, non-exempt position performing investigative work for the Office of Bar Counsel in the area of discipline. Excellent investigative, research and analytical skills are required.  Must have five years' minimum paralegal experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: investigate discipline matters for screening panels; conduct investigations, witness interviews and prepare investigative reports; and draft disciplinary pleadings, including complaints, motions, petitions, trial and appellate briefs, reprimands, orders and findings and recommendations.
