Open Positions:

Bar Counsel
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is seeking an experienced attorney to join their team as Bar Counsel.

Bar Counsel is head of the Office of Bar Counsel and establishes policy and procedures. Bar Counsel directs the investigation of matters involving attorney misconduct or incapacity and prosecutes proceedings in the name of the State Bar of Nevada. Bar Counsel represents the state bar in formal and informal discipline and reinstatement hearings before panels of disciplinary boards including: drafting pleadings, presentation of evidence and examination of witnesses, and preparing findings and orders.

Successful candidates will have at least 7 years of litigation/appellate experience, a firm understanding of the Nevada Rules of Professional Conduct, and excellent communication, multitasking, management and leadership skills. Hearing Administrator
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is currently accepting applications for Hearing Administrator. This is a full-time, non-exempt position supporting the Office of Bar Counsel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining all court files and records of court proceedings in disciplinary matters; maintaining a heavy schedule for screenings and hearings; attending screenings and hearings to record the minutes; and processing orders from the Supreme Court and Notices to the Court. The ideal candidate should possess senior legal assistant and/or paralegal experience, preferably in a court setting. Must be extremely organized and able to work independently at a fast pace. Paralegal Investigator
Full-time | Las Vegas Office

The State Bar of Nevada is currently accepting applications for a Paralegal Investigator. This is a full-time, non-exempt position performing investigative work for the Office of Bar Counsel in the area of discipline. Excellent investigative, research and analytical skills are required.  Must have five years' minimum paralegal experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: investigate discipline matters for screening panels; conduct investigations, witness interviews and prepare investigative reports; and draft disciplinary pleadings, including complaints, motions, petitions, trial and appellate briefs, reprimands, orders and findings and recommendations. Communications Specialist
Full-time | Las Vegas Office
 

The State Bar of Nevada is seeking a creative, innovative and technology-savvy Communications Specialist. This is a full-time exempt position responsible for working with state bar teams to identify programs, events, and services and creating digital communications consistent with the state bar’s image and intended audience. This position also maintains the state bar’s online sales catalog for on-demand continuing legal education and reference manuals and proctors live educational programs as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field and have a minimum of five years’ work experience in writing, editing and crafting content.
