Second Judicial District Court Suspends Jury Trials, Changes Procedure in Response to COVID-19
On March 16, 2020, the Second Judicial District Court issued Administrative Order 2020-2, altering court procedures for the protection of the community.
All currently scheduled non-essential court hearings are to be conducted by video or telephone, decided on the papers or rescheduled.
Essential cases will continue to be heard through in-person appearances, although appearance by alternative means is encouraged when possible. A list of essential case types is included in the order.
All jury trials, civil and criminal, scheduled in the court for the next 30 days will be suspended and rescheduled. No summoned prospective jurors are to appear.
