Public Hearing Set for Dec. 2 to Discuss Proposed Rules of Criminal Procedure

On Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, the Nevada Supreme Court received a request in ADKT 0491 from the Commission on Statewide Rules of Criminal Procedure. The commission developed 17 statewide criminal procedure rules and recommends that the Nevada Supreme Court adopt them. ADKT 0491 contains the complete text of the proposed rules, as well as the commission’s final vote counts for each rule.

The court has issued an order scheduling a public hearing and requesting comments regarding ADKT 0491. The public hearing will be virtual and can be viewed at www.nvcourts.gov/supreme on Dec. 2, at 2 p.m.

Persons interested in participating in the hearing must notify the clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 24. Participation will be possible via www.bluejeans.com – login information is available in the ADKT.

Written comments are invited and must also be submitted by 5 p.m. on Nov. 24 to Elizabeth A. Brown, Clerk of the Supreme Court, 201 S. Carson St., Carson City, NV 89701.
