First Judicial District Court and Carson City Courts: Hours Reduced; Electronic Submission Encouraged
On Friday, March 20, the First Judicial District Court and the Carson City Justice/Municipal Court issued an Administrative Order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Effective Monday, March 23, the courts shall reduce the hours that they are open to the public. The clerks’ offices and juvenile services will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with hours subject to change. Emergency matters will be processed in a timely fashion.
In addition, the Carson City Justice/Municipal Court will allow PDF documents to be submitted by email to JusticeCourtClerk@carson.org. Documents may also be faxed to (775) 887-2297. PDF documents may also be emailed to the Juvenile Court at JuvenileCourt@carson.org, or faxed to (775) 887-2513.
Emailed documents will be reviewed by the courts, and format requirements or changes will be communicated to the parties. Original documents are required to follow, unless otherwise approved by the court. Documents may be hand-delivered or mailed. Drop boxes will be available on the first floor of the Carson City Courthouse for the public to drop off documents. Documents for the Juvenile Court should be mailed to 1545 E. 5th Street, Carson City, NV 89701.
Courtrooms will be open for scheduled court hearings Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, the number of public permitted in the courtrooms will be limited.
