Pro Bono Week
Join the Celebration: Oct. 23 - Oct. 29, 2011
The Access to Justice Commission and the State Bar of Nevada welcome the community to join in the third annual national Celebration of Pro Bono Week.
Nevada joins the nation the last week of October 2011 in celebrating the third annual Pro Bono and Public services week. Sponsored by the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, the celebration is a coordinated national effort to showcase the great difference that pro bono lawyers make to the nation, its system of justice, its communities and, most of all, to the clients they serve. The week is also dedicated to the quest for more pro bono volunteers to meet the ever-growing legal needs of this country's most vulnerable citizens.
As we are all acutely aware, Nevada’s communities are suffering under what is consistently the highest foreclosure and unemployment rates in the country. According to the 2010 census, we’ve seen a 48 percent population growth.
To all the many dedicated attorneys, judges, and legal professionals who have generously supported pro bono efforts this year, THANK YOU. If you would like to participate in an event, join our generous sponsors, or plan an event of your own, please contact us.
