Former Justice Awarded for Contributions to Law Related Education
Former Justice Deborah Agosti was recently presented with the 2013 Cheryl Kosewicz Award, which is given to those who support Nevada's Law Related Education (LRE) Programs. The Kosewicz award is named after Cheryl Kosewicz, who was a major supporter and active participant in LRE until her death in 2007 at the age of 35. The award was presented to Agosti during the closing ceremonies for the Northern Nevada Mock Trial Competition, which took place on February 22. The State Bar of Nevada's LRE Mock Trial committee presented the award to Agosti.
Agosti coached the Galena High School Mock Trial team for many years and a handful of her students were present at the ceremony to give her a standing ovation.
Galena High School is one of the five Nevada schools sending a Mock Trial team to the state competition. Students from Bishop Gorman, Faith Lutheran, Galena, Reno and Wooster high schools will face off at the Bruce Thompson Federal Courthouse in Reno on March 8 and 9, 2013.
