Five judges from Turkey will spend the next three days touring the courts of Las Vegas and learning how justice is administered and upheld in the United States. The delegation visited the State Bar on Tuesday and met with State Bar President Alan Lefebvre. On Wednesday the judges will be presented with ceremonial gavels at the Eighth Judicial District Court. While there they will observe some of the court's proceedings to see how technology helps the justice system move more quickly. On Thursday the judges will visit Family Court and will tour juvenile facilities and learn about programs aimed at rehabilitating troubled youth.
The delegation is being led by Senator Lloyd George and is sponsored by the State Bar of Nevada, the Eighth Judicial District Court, the Rotary Club of Southern Nevada and the U.S. Marshals.
