Commission on Judicial Discipline Needs Alternate Member

Commission on Judicial Discipline Needs Alternate Member

Beginning in February 2013, the Commission on Judicial Discipline will have an opening for an alternate member for Washoe County.  The State Bar of Nevada's Board of Governors appoints a member to this committee who would serve a four year term on the committee.  There are no term limits for this committee.
The Commission meets approximately six times a year and by teleconference as necessary and their main offices are located in Carson City. Committee members are required to travel occasionally. The Commission was created by a Nevada Constitutional amendment to investigate allegations of judicial misconduct in office, violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct, or disability of judges.
An alternate member on the Commission shall serve:
a) When the appointed member is disqualified or unable to serve; or
(b) When a vacancy exists.
Interested applicants should complete an online application form.   All applications must be received NO later than January 28, 2013.
