Board of Governors Elections Results

Nominations for the Board of Governors were filed by petitions signed by at least five members entitled to vote for the nominee.   Nominations closed May 10, 2013.  District One, District Two and District Four were uncontested.  The following members will serve on the Board of Governors for a two year term commencing July 2013.
 
District One (Clark County):

District Two (White Pine, Elko, Eureka, Churchill, Lander, Humboldt, Lyon, Lincoln, Douglas, Mineral, Nye, Esmeralda, Pershing and Storey Counties):

District Four (Washoe County):
  • Laurence Digesti
  • Vernon (Gene) Leverty

District Three has a contested election. Ballots will be electronically sent to all active members who reside in District Three.  Voting takes place May 25 through June 24, 2013.  Results will be posted on the website on June 25, 2013.  Please note, only members who reside in District Three may vote in the election.The nominees for the open seat in District Three (Carson City) are:

John P. Rutledge is experienced in the area of intellectual property and has worked with major corporations and high-net worth clients as well as small business owners and he like. Rutledge formerly served on the finance subcommittee of the bar's real property section. He attended Loyola Marymount for his undergraduate studies and earned his JD from Howard University.  Rutledge also has a Master of Laws in Real Property from the University of Miami. He has authored many legal articles and has received many merit based scholarships during his academic career.   

Ryan Russell

Ryan J. Russell graduated from the Boyd School of Law and after graduating clerked for Judge William Maddox.  Russell joined the firm of Allison MacKenzie in 2004.  Russell represents business and government clients as well as individuals. He is a board member and president of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada. Russell is currently serving as a Judge Pro Tempore and was formerly a board member for the Justice League of Nevada.  Russell is a fourth-generation Carson City resident.
