For those of you who may not have attended a State Bar of Nevada Annual Meeting recently, I’m excited to tell you that we’ve made significant enhancements to this event, and that this year’s meeting will feature the perfect mix of strong educational programming, excellent networking opportunities and plenty of time for recreation as well. Of particular interest is the hands-on Trial Academy, hosted by the state bar’s Young Lawyers Section. Designed to assist attorneys at all levels of experience, the Academy will allow you to work through every aspect of preparing for and presenting a trial. Our judge instructors will provide personalized feedback to academy participants. Participation in the academy is limited to only 30 attendees, so if this is of interest to you, reserve your space now. Last year, we invited three nationally acclaimed speakers to present at Lake Tahoe – this year, after excellent feedback on the 2009 meeting, we’ve expanded our speaker selection to include five speakers, presenting on a wide variety of topics that directly relate to the practice of law. They’ll speak on issues ranging from finding new clients, to using social media and much more. Chief Justice Ron Parraguirre will also offer a breakfast presentation including news and updates from the Nevada Supreme Court. In addition to our national speakers, the state bar’s sections have once again put together a wide variety of breakout sessions, allowing you to choose the educational sessions that will be most useful to you in your specific practice. Topics will include construction law, bankruptcy, family law, discovery, tax law, employment law and much, much more. You can earn your full year’s worth of CLE credits and more – 14 CLE credit hours are available.
