BAR FINANCES
On Dec. 9, 2009, the Board of Governors approved the 2010 budget for the State Bar of Nevada. The following charts offer a brief overview of the bar’s finances for the coming year. For more information, visit the bar’s website at www.nvbar.org.
REVENUE BY DEPARTMENT: The bar’s revenue comes from several sources, including income from dues, pro hac vice fees, admissions fees, continuing legal education, lawyer referral, publications, annual meeting registrations and more. In 2010, it is anticipated that bar dues income will be about $3,465,000 – 55 percent of the bar’s total revenues. Revenues from all sources are depicted in the graph below:

ExPENSES BY DEPARTMENT: In 2010, a large percentage – 78 percent – of bar expenses will again be dedicated directly to the programs the bar provides to its members, compared to all of the supporting services provided by bar administration. Many of the bar’s largest expense areas support the bar’s core functions, including discipline, admissions and CLE. The graph below shows a breakdown of expenses by department:
